Nate is a senior at Brophy College Preparatory, and currently interning for the Brophy Community Foundation. Nate was recently named Man of the Year Runner Up by his peers.

My greatest decision was following my parents’ advice: applying to Loyola Academy as a nervous 6th grader. Stepping into the Brophy community, I had no idea the incredible journey that awaited. As a 7th grader, attending Loyola’s first college signing day was a turning point. Witnessing that event sparked a powerful realization: “I can be one of them,” I thought.

Fast-forward to my senior year. Brophy College Preparatory’s resources have been instrumental. I’ve shadowed medical students, led pre-med clubs and volunteer organizations, discovered passions in math and humanities, participated in retreats, run cross country, competed in mock trials, traveled with the jazz band, and much more. These experiences have shaped me and solidified my desire to pursue a medical career, specifically cardiology.

Throughout this journey, I’ve been incredibly grateful for the Brophy Community Foundation donors and the tax credit support that helped me access these opportunities. Thanks to this support, I’m now set to attend Northwestern University and pursue a dual degree in Global Health Studies and Biology, paving the way for my ultimate goal: becoming a doctor. I was also chosen as a QuestBridge finalist, giving me a full college scholarship.

This legacy of opportunity began with a single decision and was fueled by unwavering support. It’s a testament to the power of education and its impact on a life’s trajectory.
