Hello, my name is Diego Alejos and I am a junior. I run cross country and track and field, I am an editor for our school newspaper, The Roundup, and I am a part of Student Council. I love to hang out with friends on the weekend and I also love music. I am double-jointed in my thumbs, and I believe “the best people in life are free.”

I am a junior at Brophy and I am involved in Hermanos Unidos, Red and White, and the First Gen Advisory Board. I also enjoy playing music and can play three instruments, with guitar being my favorite. My favorite superhero is The Flash, and I believe that “power lies not in strength, but in the unyielding will to never give up.”

On campus, I like to play the violin in orchestra, build at theater tech, and shoot at archery. Outside of Brophy, I like to lion dance and tutor kids in Vietnamese and Catechism. I love lion dancing and believe that you should “grow a garden just because—even if the butterflies don’t come, you’ll still have a beautiful garden.”
Josue Valdez
I participate in Brophy’s Mock Trial program, play as a winger for the school rugby team, and serve as editor of the Opinions section for the student newspaper, “The Roundup.” Outside of school, I enjoy listening to music, going to the gym, and watching movies and TV shows. My favorite TV show is “The Sopranos,” and I believe that “stumbling is not falling.”
Anthony Lopez
I am an active member of my school’s Pickleball Club and Hermanos Unidos, a club that promotes unity, leadership, and cultural pride. Through Hermanos Unidos, I have participated in community events and cleanups. I have also volunteered with Loyola Academy, Saint Francis Xavier, and St. Vincent de Paul, experiences that have taught me the importance of giving back and connecting with diverse communities. I can hold my breath for a minute, and I believe “pressure makes diamonds.”
Alexander Osuna
Alex Osuna is an engaged leader on Brophy’s campus. He serves as President of the Modern Medicine Club, plays rugby, and performs in both the Honors Jazz Band and Honors Chamber Winds on saxophone. Passionate about science and music, Alex hopes to pursue a career in medicine as a CRNA and eventually an anesthesiologist. I’ve been playing saxophone for about ten years and am very good at dissections with steady hands for surgery. My favorite quote is Galatians 6:9: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Be concerned about your brother.”
Hassan Maxwell Dellano
I like to spend my time on campus participating in rugby and helping out in clubs like Brophy Saving Amy and Soles2Souls. Being able to help people who don’t have a lot of things like myself really brings me joy. Outside of school, I help with the organization Saving Amy, which helps families transition out of homelessness. My middle name came from my great grandpa, and I believe we should “be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
Yorick Jesus Villalpando Soto
I am a first-generation Latino student in high school who loves to work on topics related to advocacy and helping people in my community. I am the VP of Hermanos Unidos, on the leadership team of Advocacy Club, and a devoted member of First Gen club at Brophy. I have gone on various Brophy-sponsored trips to experience different cultures and volunteer about twice a week at the Saint Vincent de Paul Dream Center. I have visited over three countries and have double citizenship. As Greta Thunberg said, “You must take action. You must do the impossible. Because giving up can never ever be an option.”
Gael Gonzalez

I also like eating and making random meals and combinations in the kitchen. It can vary from microwave noodles with grilled chicken to sandwich bread with ketchup and cheese like a pizza. I do mountain biking and believe in being “men for others.”

I am part of the First Generation Club leadership, Choir Board, Chief Web-design editor for BLAM & Co-Design Editor for the Magazine, Advocacy Club Advisory Board, and part of the DEIB leadership team. Being part of the Brophy community motivates me to grow both on and off campus. I have one chicken, and I believe “the only limits you have are the limits you believe.”
Victor Mendez
At Brophy, I am passionate about empowering all students to reach their potential. I serve as President of Hermanos Unidos, one of the biggest clubs at Brophy, where I attempt to be on a first name basis with every club member. Whether through Brophy Community Foundation or Hermanos Unidos, I love helping students transform trauma into hope and action. I also play right back defender for soccer. I can wiggle my ears, and I believe “a little bit of mercy makes the world less cold and more just.”
Cristian Porras
What’s up! My name is Cristian Porras, and I am a senior at Brophy College Prep. I am president of the local non-profit Soles2Soles and one of seven interns at Saving Amy. Inclusivity, service, and advocacy are at the core of who I am, strengthened by immersion trips to El Salvador and Washington D.C. for IFTJ. I’m also a second-degree white belt in jiu-jitsu, and I believe “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
