“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the donors who made my education possible. Thanks to your generosity in part through the Brophy Community Foundation, I have been able to attend an exceptional school that prioritizes the education of the whole self, enabling me to be a light for others in dark times.

During my time at Brophy College Prep, I have participated in acts of service that have given me a new understanding of the cruelty and unfairness in our world. It has also renewed my sense of hope and inspiration to help bring peace and comfort to those in difficult situations. One of the experiences that helped me make an impact was the Loyola Project during my sophomore year. It involved serving in underserved communities and schools, where I tutored students. Another experience was the Ignatian Encounter during my junior year at St Vincent de Paul. I helped serve dinner to the homeless a few times a week. This experience opened my eyes to the great need that exists in the Phoenix community.

I have also volunteered with Homebase, along with my mom. We assisted in a living facility for young people facing homelessness. My mom is an amazing cook, and she taught me how to cook. Being able to help people with something that I am passionate about impacted me on a deeper level than just providing a service. Cooking is something that I am emotionally connected to, so it had a great impact on me.

At the last summit, I learned about the importance of thinking freely, forming my own opinions, and counteracting bias in the news and media. I have been talking to many different people in the business world through classes like Industry and Entrepreneurialism (or as Mr. Ryan put it, Industry and Vocation). I am happy to say that I have found my calling in international business, and I am excited to meet people from across the globe and make a positive impact on the lives of those my work affects. I have always been interested in learning about different societies, their history, culture, and historical significance.

I have decided to major in international business. My motivation for pursuing this field of study stems from my curiosity about different cultures and people around the world, as well as my desire to establish meaningful relationships with them. In a world that is becoming increasingly polarized and complex, I believe it is crucial to have an open-minded perspective on global issues and connections that extend beyond our comfort zones and familiar surroundings. I owe my discovery of my passion for international business to the opportunities that Brophy has provided me with over the years.

Starting this upcoming August, I will be attending Loyola University of Chicago. I am very grateful for the opportunity to attend Brophy and for all of the support and generosity I have received over the years. I hope to study abroad in Rome during my junior year. Your financial support has given students like me the chance to attend Brophy and grow into responsible young men with a passion and drive to make a positive impact on the world around us, serving those in need without counting the cost.”
