"I was born in Congo but spent the majority of my life living in a refugee camp with my family in Uganda. Our living conditions were extremely hard and education was not something my family could always afford. As time went on, I started to lose all hope for a brighter future. But in October of 2018, my family and I moved to the United States. My life completely changed when I became part of the Boys Hope Girls Hope program and started attending Bourgade Catholic High School with tuition assistance from Brophy Community Foundation. I started dreaming again. I feel welcomed, loved and cared for. I play soccer, attend clubs and have made so many great friends. This past year, I made Honor Roll and received an invitation to the National Honor Society. Bourgade has been the biggest blessing in my life because it has given me an education and the opportunity to keep learning… something I once thought I would never get to have again. "
